One of the top winning senatorial candidate Sen. Franklin Drilon, who garnered 18,607,391 votes or 41.52% of the total counted ballots is currently under fire due to allegations of massive cheating which includes Sec. Mar Roxas and Cong. Leni Robredo.
In an interview, with the witnesses who exposed the massive cheating that happened in Quezon province told the media that the Liberal Party (LP) is the mastermind behind the election fraud.
During the press conference, they were asked regarding the person whom they are pertaining, but they did not disclose it. The whistleblowers just stated that it is a high-ranking official of the government, and it is from the Liberal Party.
The witnesses seek the help of Mr. Boy Saycon, secretary general of the Council of Philippine Affairs (COPA), the person whom whistleblowers go to in these kinds of situation.
Several statements released by the whistleblowers, which Smartmatic personnel was directly involved in election manipulation and even served as a guide.
For the vice presidential race, they exposed around 200,000 votes was deducted from Sen. Bongbong Marcos and added around 300,000 votes for Rep. Leni Robredo, while more than 400,000 votes added to Sec. Mar Roxas deducted from the leading candidate President-elect Rodrigo Duterte.
A question was raised by the media asking them to name a few or at least those who received the most benefit during the cheating, they mentioned Sen. Franklin Drilon, the leading candidate during the election and is endorsed by the Liberal Party.
Sen. Franklin Drilon was involved in several corruption cases especially in Iloilo City and charged regarding overpriced project including the Iloilo Convention Center (ICC), which he allegedly gained P521 Million.
The senator was also accused of corruption in projects on the Iloilo Diversion Road, Iloilo City Hall, Pavia housing, Flyover construction under Aquino’s program and also for the Hall of Justice.
“Iloilo City has become the bird’s nest of corruption in the country,” was the statement of Manuel “Boy” Mejorada, former Iloilo Provincial administrator during the past hearing for the allegations involving the senator.
Mejorada added that the Commission on Audit (COA) together with the Office of the Ombudsman has failed to act immediately on the issues.
However, Drilon denied all allegations involving corruption, and currently serving the position as Senate president of the Republic of the Philippines.
